Oblivion Movie Review and Summary

Virtual Phone Number Is Useful

After a cataclysmic war between Earth and extraterrestrial Scavs, the planet is nuked to the ground and most of the human race has escaped to an orbiting space station. Those left behind are defended by a fleet of automated drones (hovering sentinels outfitted with machine guns) that patrol the power generators that feed the station. The story is centered on Jack Harper (Tom Cruise), one of the last drone repairmen stationed on Earth.

The Story

The film is set in 2077, long after a cataclysmic war that left Earth in ruins and most of the human race had escaped to an orbiting space station. The story is centered on Jack (Cruise), one of the last drone repairmen stationed on Earth and his partner Victoria (Andrea Riseborough).

The film opens with a spectacular vision of planetary ruin and ravaged landscapes. It also features floating houses on the clouds, futuristic aircraft and powerful drones whose strength is derived from a restless mind. While a few of the action sequences in Oblivion are quite exciting, the story is actually a bit more cerebral than most science fiction movies. It focuses on Jackโ€™s inner journey and his relentless search for identity.

In the end, it is a visually stunning movie that is sure to be remembered long after you leave the theater. It is a must-see for sci-fi fans and a great start to the blockbuster season.

Review

Director Joseph Kosinski is the man who made Tron Legacy a great success and he has done it again with this new film called Oblivion. In the m4ufree movie, Tom Cruise stars as a drone repairman named Jack Harper who is part of a mission to extract resources from a depleted Earth. This film is based on a comic book that Kosinski wrote in 2005 but never published. The script, written by Michael Arndt and Karl Gajdusek is an interesting speculative piece that will keep you thinking about it after youโ€™ve left the theater.

It is a beautifully shot and directed movie with an amazing visual style that captures the beauty of a destroyed world. The cinematography is absolutely stunning with the use of state-of-the-art cameras and special effects that are very realistic.

A costly war has wiped out most of the human race and left the world in a shambles. The last remaining humans live in a sky pad that looks a lot like a “Jetsons” sky pad. The power needed to fuel the space station comes from a series of hydroelectric power generators, defended by automated “drones” that fly over the water to guard against alien attacks.

Conclusion

The movie is a very good film with amazing visuals and a story that has some depth to it, although the characters are not particularly inspired. The chemistry between Cruise and the two women, Andrea Riseborough and Olga Kurylenko is not as strong as some other movies of Cruise in the same genre, but it works well enough to hold your interest.
